What you need to know BEFORE you BUY Tire Chains

Does my machine/equipment have enough clearance to fit tire chains?

It’s hard to believe, but no one thinks about clearance when they are considering buying tire chains. It doesn’t matter if you own a snow blower or a large backhoe, some machines simply don’t have enough clearance for using tire chains. On larger machines such as skid steers and backhoes, we recommend 3” to 4” on clearance ALL AROUND the tire. Sometimes clearance is an issue because of a fender, a gearbox or even the machine body itself. Always measure your clearance before ordering chains.

Tire Size

The tire size will determine which chain options are available. Each snow chain design is not always available in all sizes. Once again, if you don’t see the chain you want available for your size, just give us a call and we will find the best option for you.

Application

The application is very important when choosing the right tire chains. Surface type, hours of usage, weather conditions all play a big part in deciding which chain is right for you.
